Here is a story I wrote for the Tuesday newspaper about Fox and MLB considering moving more Saturday "Game of the Week" windows to prime time in 2011.

There are two experimental ones this season, beginning Saturday night and featuring Game 2 of Yankees-Mets.

(The article also has a secondary item in which John Mara talks about his emotions as Giants Stadium gets dismantled.)

One important element of the Fox/MLB story ended up on the cutting room floor:

The plan is yet another step in the trend toward live sports filling the void left by entertainment divisions that abandoned Saturdays as a ratings wasteland.

Every time I write about this, I can't help looking back in amazement at how Saturday night was viewed by the networks when I was a lad.
