MSG tops NY Emmys list

A laurel and hearty handshake to all of the winners of the 2012 New York Emmys, a list topped by MSG with 14 awards.

Most of the attention generally is focused on the on-air winners, so I'll give you the sports-related ones, including one double winner:

Play-by-play: Steve Cangialosi (MSG)

Analyst: Ron Darling (SNY)

Reporter: Kevin Maher (New 12 Long Island)

Anchor: Steve Cangialosi (MSG)

The awards actually were handed out a couple of weeks ago but I was busy at the time walking around Italy on vacation eating pizza and gelato.

My only sports-related observation about Italy: Visiting the Colosseum in Rome is a must, of course, but the coolest thing about it is how similar it is in size and seating format to modern stadiums, right down to the segregated levels for the well-connected and the regular schmoes.

The mead probably was overpriced, too.
