Brackets busted after pair of No. 14 seeds advance
Last year quite a few people made it through the first full day of the NCAA Tournament with perfect brackets intact.
This year? Not so much.
Before UAB upset Iowa State in the second result Thursday, 97.3 percent of entries in CBS Sports' bracket challenge were perfect. After UAB's win, 3 percent were. Then another No. 14 seed, Georgia State, upset No. 3 seed Baylor, and by 4 p.m. Eastern Time only 0.27 percent of brackets in CBS' contest were unblemished.
By 6 p.m., after UCLA beat SMU, 0.089 percent of CBS brackets and 0.12 on ESPN's site were perfect. By 7, after only seven games had been completed, CBS had a mere 0.0573 percent pristine brackets.
