Odell Beckham Jr. had to settle for being a Pro Bowl alternate, but that hardly reflects the popularity of the Giants' rookie receiver -- not only in the metropolitan area but around the nation and world.

We've been chronicling his Twitter popularity around here the past few weeks, and sure enough, he landed second among mentions of NFL players in Week 16, behind only Marshawn Lynch.

So @OBJ_3 now has ranked first, third, fourth, third and second since his famous catch against the Cowboys Nov. 23.

But here's another way of illustrating the point: Over the past five weeks, only three players have ranked among the top four in Twitter mentions more than once: Dez Bryant did it twice and Johnny Manziel thrice. Beckham is 5-for-5.
