Rays-Yankees was a hit
Wednesday night's division-clinching victory for the Yankees over the Rays averaged 7.01% of New York area homes (640,000 viewers) - the best such rating on YES for a game not involving the Red Sox since a Blue Jays-Yankees game in April of 2008.
It was the second-highest-rated game of this season, behind only a 7.7 for a Yankees-Red Sox game Sept. 1.
Wednesday night's rating peaked at 9.07 between 11 and 11:15.
The postgame show averaged 3.4% of area homes, a huge figure for a postgame.
