SNY seeks broadcast outlet
SNY has been shopping its sports news services - by far the most extensive in New York television - to local broadcast channels looking to get out of the expensive sports news business, something stations around the nation have been doing in recent years.
One logical candidate would be Channel 4, what with Comcast's pending purchase of NBC and the cable giant's part ownership of SNY.
It's not clear how all this would work, but it would presumably involve sports reports on the local news that originate from SNY's studios, where the channel already produces a nightly show at 10 p.m.
