The SNY Invitational tips off at 6 p.m. Friday with Long Island Lutheran facing Cardozo, followed by Boys and Girls against Rice, at LIU-Brooklyn.
The consolation and final are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday.
When I covered city high schools in the late 1980s, I saw a couple of games at LIU's home until 2005, the old Paramount Theater.
'Twas a very cool sports viewing venue.
SNY and sponsor MetroPCS have made more than $70,000 in donations of scholarships, funds and equipment to the participating schools.
