WFAN’s Craig Carton and Evan Roberts won the winter radio ratings book head-to-head against ESPN New York’s “The Michael Kay Show,” rebounding from a loss in last autumn’s quarterly period.

From 3 to 6:30 p.m., the time during which the shows overlap, WFAN ranked second overall in the New York market with an average of 5.7% of the listening audience among the key demographic of men ages 25-54.

ESPN New York was seventh at 4.5%, according to Nielsen Audio data for Jan. 6 through March 30 that was released on Tuesday and obtained from an industry source.

Carton and Roberts won the winter and spring books in 2021 before Kay took the fall quarter.

WFAN’s Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti won handily from 6 to 10 a.m., finishing second overall at 8.9 to ESPN’s 16th at 2.1.

WFAN finished behind only the Spanish-language station WSKQ-FM in both morning and afternoon drive time.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., WFAN’s new midday show of Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney finished fifth with 4.1% of the audience compared to ESPN’s 16th and 2.1 during that time.

All data includes both over-the-air and streaming numbers but not the shows’ TV simulcasts.
