Power outage caused YES Network to go off the air temporarily
The YES Network initially was off the air, then returned commercial free, as the Yankees get back to action against the Astros on Thursday after the All-Star break.
The problem was a power outage in Atlanta, where YES’ master control runs through Sinclair, part owner of the network. The outage also took out all other Sinclair-owned regional sports networks.
YES was able to get the game on most systems, although users of the YES app had to go to an alternate feed to see the game.
For technical reasons there initially were no commercials between innings as Sinclair worked to restore the full, normal telecast.
