On Monday, Aljamain Sterling boarded a flight and flew to Australia to get ready for his Nov. 7 fight in Sydney.

On Wednesday, Sterling learned that this fight would not be taking place. His opponent, Frankie Saenz, withdrew because of an injury, and there was not enough time to find a replacement fighter for the undefeated bantamweight.

Sterling (10-0, 2-0 UFC) tweeted later after the official announcement that there was "one last hope" to getting an opponent by Nov. 7.

Sterling's Serra-Longo teammate, Al Iaquinta, will fight Ross Pearson in the co-main event. Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping headline the card on UFC Fight Pass.

Neil Seery also pulled out of his flyweight bout against Richie Vaculik. Louis Smolka will replace Seery.
