Bellator goes HD on EPIX

Bellator has made impressive strides in a short time, becoming a legitimate MMA promotion and producing quality fighters such as lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
But when you watch the fights live on MTV2, it feels a little old school, a little NWA wrestling on Saturday mornings with Gordon Solie doing the broadcast. That's what happens in 2011 when everyone has HD televisions and you broadcast in standard definition.
That's about to change, starting Sept. 10, when EPIX simulcasts the MTV2 broadcast of live Bellator fights in high-definition.
“This is the perfect time and the perfect channel to introduce Bellator in high-definition,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney said in a statement. “EPIX has fantastic programming, tremendous reach and I always find a great movie on their channel. I look forward to continuing our relationship with MTV2 and our new partnership with EPIX to bring the magic of HD to Bellator fans nationwide.”
