Spike TV continues to look for ways to maintain its MMA audience now that UFC is on the Fox family of networks. Last month, they announced a new show "MMA Junkie Live."

The news magazine show, partnered with the MMA news website MMAJunkie.com, will look at all MMA promotions and serves as a form of counterprogramming to the new "UFC Tonight" on Fuel TV.

But for metro area New Yorkers, here's a little nugget: WFAN morning show host Craig Carton will be the host of MMA Junkie Live from the MTV Studios in Times Square.

If you don't do morning radio, Carton is a humorous co-host along with Boomer Esiason. He's done things such as walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in speedos for his Jets, and led the chants for Brett Favre and Manny Ramirez to come to New York. These, of course, are just three samples from the co-host of New York's No. 1 morning radio program.

How his radio shtick, which is equal parts beloved and disliked, will translate on-screen will be interesting to see. Carton, of course, has done television gigs before so it's not as if the small screen is completely new. Plus he's smart enough to know the differences in the medium.

Either way, we recommend watching (along with our Boomer & Carton Mockumentary linked below).
