The third fight, which was originally scheduled for UFC 130 on Memorial Day but was scrapped because of injuries to both fighters, is back on the books. This time, Edgar defends his lightweight title at UFC 136 in Houston on Oct. 8. UFC president Dana White confirmed Friday that verbal agreements are in place.
"OCT 8th. 12 out. Let's gooooooo!" Edgar tweeted Friday.
Also scheduled for UFC 136 is Chael Sonnen in his return to the cage against Brian Stann, and Demian Maia vs. Jorge Santiago.
