EA Sports MMA, the new mixed martial arts video game featuring Strikeforce as the premier league, will hit shelves Oct. 19, 2010.

More interesting, though, are the fighters selected for the cover: Fedor Emelianenko (a no-brainer) and Randy Couture.

That surely doesn't sit well with UFC president Dana White, but we're sure he'll get over it.

If you're wondering how a UFC fighter came upon the cover of a Strikeforce-dominant game, Couture signed a deal with EA Sports back in 2008. At that time, he was in a contract dispute with UFC.

Couture has long campaigned for the change to fight Fedor, but given the promotional considerations that come along with Emelianenko (co-owner of M-1 Global), something tells me this is as close as we'll ever get to seeing Couture and Fedor in the same cage.
