Frank Mir got the call Friday that he's moving into the main event at UFC 146 on May 26 in Las Vegas. That slot, vacated by Alistair Overeem because of a positive test for elevated levels of testosterone, comes with a heavyweight title shot against champion Junior Dos Santos.
Mir, a two-time former champion now on a three-fight win streak, opened at +375 odds Monday, according to Bovada.lv. Dos Santos is the heavy favorite at -550. (Explainer: You'd have to bet $550 on Dos Santos in order to win $100, whereas a $100 bet on Mir would earn you a $375 payday.)
Mir was originally scheduled to fight Cain Velasquez in a bout to determine the next title shot. Velasquez will now fight Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.
Silva was supposed to fight Roy Nelson, who will now fight Gabriel Gonzaga.
Gonzaga was supposed to fight Shane Del Rosario, who now fights Stipe Miocic.
