Free UFC fights on Facebook
Here's a novel way to deliver free MMA fights to UFC fans: Facebook!
Those of you already are or become Facebook fans of UFC will be able to watch a live stream of two prelims at this Saturday's Fight for the Troops 2 in Fort Hood, Texas. The stream starts at 8 p.m.
Pretty unique way to deliver content to fans, free of charge. Of course, the entire card is free on Spike TV starting at 9 p.m., assuming you're one of the 98 million homes who get it. But Facebook is worldwide, and now fans all over the world (wide web) can watch these two prelims:
Cody McKenzie vs. Yves Edwards
DaMarques Johnson vs. Mike Guymon
All you need to do is click the "Like" button at facebook.com/ufc.
Again, the card is already free on Spike, but this could signify a very interesting development for the future. UFC has a good track record of delivering free content to help boost its pay content. Perhaps down the road, fans can start to clamor for prelims from a pay-per-view event to be streamed on Facebook.
