Gian Villante added to next Strikeforce card

Gian Villante, a former football player and wrestler at MacArthur High School and Hofstra University, has been added to the Strikeforce fight card for Jan. 7, 2011, in Las Vegas.
Villante (8-3, 1-2 Strikeforce) will fight Trevor Smith (9-1, 2-0) in a light heavyweight bout on the undercard of Luke Rockhold's middleweight title defense against Keith Jardine. Both Villante and Smith move up from the Strikeforce Challengers series to fight on the main card.
Villante last fought in August and won by unanimous decision over Keith Berry.
