Matt Serra, the fighting pride of East Meadow, was given the Tequila Cazadores Spirit Award for UFC 119 for his work with the Ronald McDonald House.

A nice sum of $1,000 was donated to Ronald McDonald House in his name. The Tequila Cazadores Spirit Award is presented to UFC fighters who have demonstrated honor and integrity both in and out of the Octagon. One award is presented to a fighter prior the week of a pay-per-view card.

Serra, who grew up and still lives on Long Island, has visited RMCH several times and came away impressed with a few of its patients.

"This kid Anthony was really in bad shape," Serra said. "I visited him in Long Island and now he's on the up. I still keep in touch with him. I like what they do. They're all about the children. That's an awesome thing."

Serra is a dedicated family man with a 19-month-old daughter named Angelina.
