LAS VEGAS -- UFC strawweight Paige VanZant will fight fellow contender Rose Namajunas in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card on Dec. 10.

The UFC announced Thursday that Namajunas will replace Scotland's Joanne Calderwood, who is injured.

VanZant (6-1) has won four straight fights while becoming a heavily promoted star in the UFC's 115-pound division. She beat Alex Chambers with a third-round armbar at UFC 191 last month.

Namajunas (4-2) received a similar promotional push after reaching the finals of "The Ultimate Fighter" last year, losing a UFC title bout to former champion Carla Esparza.

Namajunas returned to the cage Oct. 3 after a 10-month absence, stopping Angela Hill.

VanZant and Namajunas will headline the first of three UFC fight cards on consecutive days in Las Vegas.
