Rampage Jackson to leave UFC ... after he fights Shogun Rua

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has said over the past few days that he wants to part ways with UFC. He will get his wish, just not until he finishes his contract.

That contract has one fight left, and according to a report on "UFC Tonight" on Tuesday, Jackson will end his run in the UFC against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The fight is expected to take place this summer, but no official date has been announced.

Jackson has been one of the more enigmatic personalities in MMA. He has retired once before, only to return to the cage and fight. He admitted to using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) prior to his February fight in Japan against Ryan Bader, then said a few days later that he was misquoted.

Jackson (32-9, 7-4 UFC) is a former light heavyweight champion and the only 205-pounder other than Jon Jones to successfully defend the title since winning it from Chuck Liddell in 2007. But he is coming off two straight losses, to Bader and to Jones. In 2010, Jackson lost a unanimous decision to Rashad Evans then won a close split decision against Lyoto Machida. In 2011, he beat Matt Hamill by decision then lost a title shot to Jones.

Rua, coming off an epic battle against Dan Henderson last November, fought and beat Jackson in Japan's PRIDE fighting in 2005, a fight that helped launch Rua's star power.
