Ronda Rousey, Liz Carmouche and the UFC 'big toe'

The math of it all may wind up being polydactyly now, but please forgive that for the sake of the metaphor here.
Besides, when Ronda Rousey was posed with this question, Sara McCann and Alexis Davis had not yet been announced as UFC female fighters number five and six.
The question posed Monday centered around being the only female fight booked for UFC 157, where Rousey will defend her bantamweight title against Liz Carmouche on Feb. 23 in Anaheim, Calif. Typically, the UFC (and other MMA promotions) will stack a few other fights in the same division as the main event on the card, be it on pay-per-view or the prelims. Not so in this case, as Rousey vs. Carmouche is the only women's MMA bout that night.
Here were Rousey's thoughts on the matter:
“This is kind of a test," Rousey told Newsday. "If you’re testing the waters, you stick your big toe in, you don’t just jump . So, me and Liz are the big toe of the UFC in the waters of the women’s division.”
Since that quote Monday, the rest of the foot has sprouted more toes. Miesha Tate will fight Cat Zingano at the Ultimate Finale 17 on April 13. McCann, an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling in 2004, and Davis became UFC fighters on Tuesday, but no fight has been announced yet.
