Lavar Johnson was seen mingling with the crowd inside the Izod Center during the undercard. They couldn't help him two hours later in the cage against Shane Del Rosario.

Del Rosario used an armbar to submit Johnson in a Strikeforce heavyweight bout in East Rutherford, N.J., on Saturday night. The fight was a Grand Prix reserve bout, meaning should one of the semifinalists in the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament not be able to compete, Del Rosario would be considered as a replacement.

Late in the first round, Del Rosario got Johnson to the ground and worked some ground and pound. Johnson tried to roll out of it, but Del Rosario had control of his arm and used the momentum to sink in the armbar with 29 seconds left for the win.
