Thiago Alves submitted Papy Abedi with 1:30 left in the first round in their UFC 138 welterweight bout on Saturday in England.

Here's the crazy thing: Alves locked in the rear naked choke with 1:32 left.

If your math is sharp, you'll notice that it took Abedi two seconds to give up and tap out to Alves.

Nothing against Alves' skills, but c'mon on, Abedi. At least try to squirm out of it or hold it off for a little while longer before quitting. This was your UFC debut. The hat and cigar were cute, the fast give-up, not so much.

Alves barely had the submission move locked in, and Abedi was tapping. Eleven of Alves' 24 career wins have come in the UFC, and that was his first submission victory.
