NEWARK - Tomasz Drwal attempted a right front kick, his first of the bout. His left foot slipped on the canvas. And just like that, his night was over.
Rousimar Palhares (20-2) quickly pounced on Drwal and secured the heel hook for the submission victory 45 seconds into the middleweight bout at UFC 111 inside the Prudential Center.
Drwal (17-3) was in intense pain and lay in the Octagon for a few minutes. He limped out of the cage and back to the locker room.
