UFC 112: Mark Munoz impresses
Mark Munoz spent the better part of the first round at UFC 112 getting beat up by Kendall Grove.
When attempting to shoot in for a takedown, Munoz caught a knee from Grove and didn't lift his head up for the next two minutes as he clung to the Hawaiian's 6-foot-6 frame.
When he did, he hit with a few shots and submission attempts.
But Munoz managed to fight through that, and in the second round, the middleweight showed why he's known as the "Filipino Wrecking Machine." He pinned Grove (13-7) up against the cage and went to work with his ground-and-pound.
The result? A TKO, a victory and increased respect for Munoz (8-1).
