Season 11 of "The Ultimate Fighter" was often criticized for being the least talented pool of fighters in the show's history.

Court McGee, the "TUF 11" winner, had the opportunity Saturday night at UFC 121 to prove he's a good mixed martial artist rather than just the best of a weak group of fighters.

After a bad first round, McGee regrouped and submitted Ryan Jensen by arm triangle 1:21 into the third round.

The backstory of McGee remains amazing: former heroin addict, once pronounced dead, found MMA to overcome his demons. The same could be said about this fight.

Jensen (16-6, 2-5 UFC), dropped McGee (12-1, 2-0) early in the first round with a big left and landed enough other big shots to win the round easily.

McGee came back in the second round and landed blows to Jensen's face throughout the round. He scored a takedown at the end of the round that secured the 10-9 scoring in his favor.

In the third, McGee got an early takedown and mount on Jensen that led to the submission.
