How quickly things can turn in mixed martial arts.

Charles Oliveira, the exciting and highly active lightweight rising star, was putting move after move on Jim Miller at UFC 124 in Montreal on Saturday night. Then, in a flash, Miller had the submission victory.

"I think a lot of people underestimated me coming into the fight," Miller said. "I'm one of the best in the world."

That's six straight wins for Miller (19-2), who ended his in-cage interview by saying "I want my shot, Joe."

That Joe is UFC matchmaker Joe Silva. That shot is a lightweight title shot. An interesting move since Miller is trained by Mike Cosentino, the same trainer as current UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

Oliveira (14-1) was on back and working his long legs upward for a submission hold. Miller, standing, recognized the attempt and stepped over and around Oliveira's leg. He fell to the ground grasping Oliveira's leg and earned the kneebar submission 1:59 into the fight.
