UFC 126: 21 seconds for Kingsbury
One right knee made all the difference for Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 126 in Las Vegas.
Needing just 21 seconds to defeat Ricardo Romero, Kingsbury landed a big knee that backed Romero to the cage. Kingsbury followed with a series of knees, then connected with a monster straight left that dropped Romero.
From there, it was just a matter of time before referee Steve Mazzagatti could get there to stop it.
“I knew I hurt him with that first knee," Kingsbury said. "I wanted to stay composed and not rush in prematurely and make any mistakes. It feels great to get the win. I felt great coming in and felt strong tonight.”
