Chris Weidman on superstititions

Athletes and their superstitions, a combination than can create some intriguing (and disturbing) stories.
This is not one of them.
UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman said he's a little superstitious, "but nothing too crazy." Nothing that would cause concern.
The undefeated fighter from Baldwin does have one thing he must do before each fight. It's probably closer to a tradition than it is a superstition.
“Every single time before the fight, I have to point up to God and do a circle when they call my name," Weidman told Newsday. "It was just randomly when I fought in Ring of Combat, my first fight ever, when they called my name, I just did it. And now I’ve done it every single time."
That was on the night of Feb. 20, 2009, inside The Tropicana in Atlantic City for Ring of Combat 23. Weidman submitted Reubem Lopes via kimura 1:35 into the first round.
“I just knew I wanted to give the glory to God in my first fight," the spiritual Weidman said. "I worked hard. I had all my family there.
“I just do it, kind of show a little character, show you have faith.”
