UFC 175: Ronda Rousey needs 16 seconds to knock out Alexis Davis

As expected, Ronda Rousey won.
As expected, it involved some judo.
As not expected, there was no armbar submission.
Rousey met Alexis Davis in the center of the cage. The two exchanged a few pleasantries with their fists. Rousey then gained control and hip-tossed Davis with a judo throw.
Then, she threw nine punches to Davis’ face and the fight was over. Knockout. Sixteen seconds. That’s all she needed at UFC 175 on Saturday to prove she’s the most dominant female fighter in mixed martial arts. It was her fouth straight defense of her UFC women's bantamweight title.
“I got clipped once,” said Rousey (10-0).
It was the ninth first-round stoppage for Rousey, a 1-10 favorite heading into the fight, and her second straight by knockout or TKO.
"If I stopped being motivated, then these fights would probably go on longer," Rousey said.
Still, in just 14 strikes, Rousey managed to rip open a cyst in a knuckle on her right hand. She received nine stitches after the fight. Rousey also said she is scheduled for knee surgery that she termed “maintenance.”
She’ll be out of the cage for a little bit, but you’ll see her again shortly in movie theaters when she appears in “Expendables 3.”
Rousey’s 16 seconds of work is the second fastest knockout in UFC title fight history, one second shy of Andrei Arlovski’s knockout of Paul Buentello in 2005.
Rousey was asked in the cage if she would fight on the Aug. 2 card at UFC 176 after featherweight champion Jose Aldo pulled out of his defense against Chad Mendes with an injury. Rousey said she is scheduled for knee surgery, “but it’s a quick recovery” and she’d talk it over with her coaches.
UFC president Dana White wasn't too happy with that question being asked by Joe Rogan via the production team, calling it "the biggest idiotic move in the history of our production team."
