UFC on Fox: Nate Diaz picks apart Jim Miller

Nate Diaz stood in the center of the octagon, extending his arms out and taunting his opponent.

Under the bright lights inside the Izod Center and the big cameras of Fox, this was Diaz's home right now, even if his opponent, Jim Miller, was fighting in his home state.

Diaz stared down Miller, did a little "Hit me harder" move like Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky III," then continue to systematically pick apart his opponent with his boxing skills.

Yet it was Diaz's submission skills that finally ended the fight as Miller tapped out 4:09 into second round of the lightweight title eliminator fight at UFC on Fox 3.

Diaz (16-7) had a one-arm guillotine choke hold on Miller. After repositioning his body to keep Miller in the choke hold and in front of him, Diaz sat back on the canvas, rolled Miller (21-4) end-over-end and locked in the guillotine.

"It was pretty tight," Diaz said.

Diaz figures to be in the immediate hunt for the next lightweight title shot after Ben Henderson defends against Frankie Edgar. Whether or not that happens without another fight for Diaz -- Anthony Pettis, perhaps? -- is unclear at the moment.
