UFC's Dana White hammers Nevada State Athletic Commission

Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre won a controversial split decision to retain his title against Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

St-Pierre won, 48-47, on two cards and lost on the third card, 47-48.

The overwhelming belief among those cageside (and Twitter-side) had Hendricks winning, 48-47. In some cases, such as with UFC president Dana White, they had Hendricks winning four of the five rounds (for a 49-46 score).

After the fight was over, White had some harsh words (again) for the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

“Nevada is a very scary place," he said. "This is the worse commission on the planet. I’m afraid to bring fights to Las Vegas. This is the thing that makes people not like fights. I’m still so blown away by it. Georges knew he lost. His corner knew he lost. Hendricks knew he won. These people are despicably horrible. This city is scary.”

White was asked during the UFC on Fox Sports 1 interview if he thought the scoring system was part of the problem.

“No," he said. "The Nevada State Athletic Commission has a lot of work to do before they destroy this sport. If you look at a promoter like me, GSP is the biggest money making guy on the planet, but I want to guy who won the fight to win the fight. It’s about what’s fair.”
