Ice, ice baby: Smooth skating again at oval
(AP) — The ice is smooth at the Richmond Olympic Oval for the women's 500 meters, with the newly repaired resurfacing machines running again.
The two machines were back doing their jobs Tuesday, a day after both machines and a backup broke down and caused a lengthy delay during the men's 500.
Fans cheered the machines as they drove around the oval before the competition began.
Another resurfacing machine was scheduled to arrive from the Olympic Oval in Calgary, although it had yet to be used Tuesday.
