USA men’s basketball Olympics schedule
The U.S. men’s basketball will begin its 2016 Summer Olympics pool play schedule on Aug. 6, one day after the Opening Ceremonies in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The schedule was released on Thursday and features five games for Team USA during the group stage. China, Venezuela and Australia already qualified and were placed in the group with the U.S. Two more teams will join the group by winning their respective Olympic qualifying tournaments. Those tournaments take place in Italy, Serbia and the Philippines between July 4 and July 10.
Here is Team USA’s schedule for the Olympics (all times Eastern):
Aug. 6 vs. China, 6 p.m.
Aug. 8 vs. Venezuela, 6 p.m.
Aug. 10 vs. Australia, 6 p.m.
Aug. 12 vs. Qualifier 1, 6 p.m.
Aug. 14. vs. Qualifier 2, 1:15 p.m.
Aug. 17 — quarterfinals
Aug. 19 — semifinals
Aug. 21 — Medal round
Team USA will begin its training camp July 18 in Las Vegas and must trim its roster to 12 before the start of the Olympics.
The Americans also will play five exhibition games across the country before the Olympics:

USA vs China (July 26, Oakland)
USA vs Venezuela (July 29, Chicago)
