Vonn draws ideal downhill starting spot
(AP) — Lindsey Vonn will start in an ideal position — 16th — in Wednesday's downhill.
The top-ranked racers start between 16 and 22, meaning Vonn will ski before top rivals Anja Paerson and Maria Riesch.
Paerson was drawn to start No. 21 and Riesch will go No. 22.
If Vonn puts down a solid run, her rivals will be under pressure to beat it.
Stacey Cook of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., will ski No. 4, Julia Mancuso of Squaw Valley, Calif., will start No. 10 and Alice McKennis of Glenwood Springs, Colo., will go No. 23.
