Cosmos extend coach Giovanni Saverese's contract

The Cosmos signed head coach Giovanni Savarese to a contract extension on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not announced. Savarese, 44, led the Cosmos to an 11-9-7 record in 2014 and a berth in the North American Soccer League's four-team postseason championship.
The Cosmos went 9-4-1 and won the 2013 NASL Soccer Bowl in Savarese's first season.
