Rockville Centre native Crystal Dunn, a forward for the Washington Spirit, was named the National Women's Soccer League player of the week.

Dunn, who played for South Side High School and was Newsday's Long Island player of the year in 2009, scored all three goals for the Spirit in a 3-1 win over the Houston Dash last Saturday night. Dunn got the hat trick in the first half.

Dunn, who played collegiately at North Carolina, is the first NWSL player to receive the award four times in a season.

Dunn has 12 goals and two assists this season. She is the leading goal scorer in the NWSL.

Washington is currently in third place in the NWSL (7-4-3, 24 points).
