Sachia Vickery of Hollywood, Fla., who earned a wild-card berth in the Open's main draw by virtue of winning this year's 18-and-under national championship, won her first-round match over former U.S. Open junior champion Mirjana Lucic-Baroni, now a 31-year-old veteran from Croatia, 6-4, 6-4.
