The U.S. men have continued to win today.
Ryan Harrison, an 18-year-old qualifier, upset No. 15 Ivan Ljubicic 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4 in the first round for his first Grand Slam victory.
Sam Querrey, the 20th seed, beat fellow American Bradley Klahn 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in a first-round match.
Querrey has been a hot player this season, winning four tournaments. He is expected to make a run at Flushing Meadows.
No. 18 seed John Isner plays plays Federico Gil today and No. 9 seed Andy Roddick plays Janko Tipsarevic in the night session.
