Andy Murray is through to round three of the US Open after steamrollering Dustin Brown, 7-5, 6-3, 6-0.

There was a small Caribbean contingent cheering for Brown courtside on Arthur Ashe, but the fourth-seeded Murray made quick work of his competitor in the second and third sets.

Brown pushed him to 5-5 in the first set of the match Friday, but Murray won 14 of the next 17 games.

“Big” John Isner hit several bumps on way to a four-set victory over Marco Chiudinelli, going 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. Isner had a pocket full of aces per usual, with 24, but struggled in his return game to a relatively low rate of 65 percent. He also had 44 unforced errors, which particularly stung him in the second set.

David Ferrer, ranked 10th, breezed past Benjamin Becker in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
