Roger Federer goes up a set on Novak Djokovic
As always between these two top-three players, it was a tightly contested set. But also just about as always, Federer pulled it out, 7-5. Djokovic was humming along early and broke Federer to go up 4-2 -- the service break came just after Federer got a little hot with the chair umpire after one of the linesmen took a tumble behind Djokovic during the 15-40 point.
The chair, Enric Molina, had to call a let on a point that Federer was about to close out, and Federer jawed a bit; he served an ace on the replay, but lost the next point and the game. But he gathered himself, broke Djokovic right back, then again at 5-all and stormed through the final game to take the set.
Two more of those, and the Federer-Nadal showdown is on for Sunday.
