Federer broke to go up 3-1 and seemed ready to cruise, but Jurgen Melzer got aggressive and broke back to get on serve at 3-4.

But one of the reasons Federer is among the greatest who ever played is his ability to snuff out an opponent's momentum, and he did that by breaking Melzer right back, then polishing off the first set, 6-3.
