Sam Querrey in trouble
Sam Querrey, the 20th seed, may have known something when he said yesterday that not playing on Arthur Ashe Stadium could impact results.
Querrey, playing for the first time at Ashe, is trailing No. 25 seed Stanislas Wawrinka in a fourth-round match. Wawrinka is serving for the set, up 5-4. He won the first set in a lengthy tiebreaker, 7-6.
U.S men Mardy Fish and John Isner also lost at Ashe in their first matches there.
UPDATE (3:04): Querrey breaks Wawrinka and ties up the second set, 5-5. Wawrinka, who has been outplaying Querrey, was serving for the set and a commanding lead. But Querrey showed some guts.
UPDATE (3:07): Break point coming for Querrey. He served himself to a 6-5 lead in the second set.
UPDATE (3:13): Wawrinka ties it up at 6-6. Terrific match thus far.
