Venus Williams wins first set

        Venus Williams just took the first set from defending champion Kim Clijsters, 6-4.

       Williams serve has been overpowering as she has won 81 percent of her first-set points. Her fastest serve speed was measured  at 124 mph, compared to 108 from Clijsters.

        Williams broke Clijsters in the ninth game of the set.
