Verdasco wins thrilling five-setter
Fernando Verdasco hit a running hook forehand on match point to beat David Ferrer in the quarterfinals of a marathon five-set match Tuesday.
The No. 8 seed one the match against his good friend, 5-7, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6. The match took four hours and 23 minutes and was decided by a tiebreak.
Verdasco will play the winner of Nadal-Lopez in the quarterfinals.
