American James Blake  is about to open the night session against No. 3 seed Novak Djokovic.

Blake, who slipped to 108th in the world after taking two monhs off to mend a knee injury, needed a wild card just to qualify for this year's open. Now,  there's some talk that the 30-year-old Blake may hang up his sneakers after this year's tournament.

Blake, a longtime fann favorite in Flushing Meadows, is not tipping his hand.

"People say I've been struggling and everything, but I'm still having fun," Blake said followingsecond-round victory over Peter Polansky earlier this week. "I'm having a great time competing. I still love what I do. And out here [at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center], I love it even more."

Blake knows that few expect him to advance to the fourth round.

Said Blake: "I'm sure if people on the outside are looking at it, you've got to think that he's the favorite," Blake said of Djokovic.  "If I go out there, and I start dictating, I feel like I have a good shot. But there's also a good shot that he comes out and plays great tennis and proves why he's number three in the world right now."
