The WNBA Draft is moving to another borough and is swinging the door open to the public again.

After being held at Spring Studios in Manhattan the past two years, the league announced Wednesday that it’s shifting the event to the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The draft is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on April 15.

Fans can attend for the first time since the 2014-16 drafts were conducted at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. There will be about 1,000 tickets available, the league said.

The WNBA wanted to turn this 28th annual draft into a larger event that included fans again. It also will be televised by ESPN.

“We are focused on creating elevated events that WNBA fans won’t want to miss, at a time when the energy for the WNBA has never been higher,” commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement.

The buzz that night could be over Iowa sensation Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever won the draft lottery and would assuredly make the 6-foot guard the top overall pick if she declares. The Liberty own the 11th overall selection.
