TopGuest.com turns your geolocation check-ins through Foursquare, Twitter, Yelp, Gowalla and other social networks into hotel rewards points.

It's a brilliant idea - you get extra points when you "check in" with your location at hotels (or their restaurants) that participate in loyalty programs. You can use the aforementioned social networks to connect your geolocated check-ins with TopGuest and its hotel rewards clubs. You don't have to stay at the hotel or eat in the restaurant, but you do need to be there physically.

One drawback is not enough hotel chains are playing yet. In a recent check, we saw Priority Club Rewards (InterContinental Hotels Group, which includes brands such as Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn); Grand Guest (Soho and Tribeca Grand Hotels); and the Standard hotels. We're not going to start staying at, say, Holiday Inns just so we can earn an extra 50 points with TopGuest, especially when it takes thousands of points to earn a free night. But this is a great service to augment loyalty programs if you're open to playing the geolocation game. The site, only 2 months old, promises to add more hotel - and airline - programs soon.
