The Nordstrom Rack in Bay Shore has reopened after a temporary closure.
The store at Gardiner Manor Mall reopened Aug. 28, according to a representative from Nordstrom, who declined to share the reason for the store's brief shutdown. The location's window previously held a permit for a repair to the building's water main break issued by the Town of Islip, Newsday reported.
A representative for the Town of Islip did not immediately comment on the store's reopening.
Representatives for the mall's landlord, Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the temporary closure.
Nordstrom Rack opened the 24,000-square-foot store at 854 Sunrise Hwy. in 2024 in a building previously occupied by a Staples, Newsday reported. The off-price Rack store is one of six on Long Island, including locations at Smith Haven Plaza in Lake Grove, Manhasset Center and the Gallery at Westbury Plaza, according to the company's website.
Nordstrom Inc., which was acquired by descendants of the Nordstrom family and the Mexican company El Puerto de Liverpool last year, has opened additional Nordstrom Rack locations over the past three years to draw in customers with discounted prices, Newsday reported.
