Leadership skills, life skills and life principles taught at SuperCamp help shape the goals, character and commitment of middle school, high school and college students who attend the 6-day summer programs.

PALO ALTO, Calif. (PRWEB) April 18, 2018

Students who attend SuperCamp’s summer enrichment programs at Stanford and three other colleges this summer are acquiring the skills and drive that can lead them to positions of power, influence and leadership as adults.

Research conducted annually with SuperCamp graduates reveals that over 80 percent of them report increases in confidence and self-esteem from the program. Over 90 percent of graduates cite improved peer relationships. Academically, a majority of students indicate their grades improve, their college entrance exam scores increase and they go on to a four-year college.

Dr. Nita Rao, who wrote down the goal of “Become a Doctor” on her board as a 13-year old SuperCamp participant, credits the challenge and success of the board-breaking exercise as helping her persevere during medical school. Dr. Rao states “My journey through medicine has been very similar to my experience breaking that board at SuperCamp. I never gave up and I kept fighting for my dream.”

SuperCamp teaches students goal-setting techniques and instills in them, through a variety of activities including board-breaking, the mindset and confidence to overcome obstacles that can prevent them from achieving their goals. Students also learn eight core character principles and interpersonal, critical thinking and leadership skills.

“The shifts the students make during their time at SuperCamp can and does have an immense impact,” says program co-founder and president, Bobbi DePorter. “And the impact is not only on their lives, but on the lives of those they influence in the future as parents, professionals and community, business and political leaders.”
